Lusitano horse Festival
Since the early times, horses have been one of the most common mediums of communication and during wars and battles, valiant knights fighting on horsebacks are one of the common features of medieval literary works. While the very first of the International Horse Festival in Portugal was held in the year 1983, it is to be noted that the first of the International Lusitano Festival was held in the year 1986. Since then the International Lusitano Horse Festival have been held on a regular basis and the immense popularity of this Festival proves the cultural value of equestrian activities in the country of Portugal. The Festival which is held every year is a significant platform for the various breeders of the Lusitano horses, put to test the results of their breeding and have been a prominent occasion in Portugal.
